As we move into fall and the temperature drops, finding things for the kids to do inside is a must for any parent. The Children's Museum is a natural and pretty much perfect choice, where fun, education, discovery and play all come together.
Recently renovated, the museum boasts 12 new permanent galleries with travelling exhibits stopping in year round.
When you enter, you walk into a enormous bright room, sectioned off by colourful sanctuaries, a life-sized train and lots of laughs and giggles.
If your little ones are part of the toddling set, then head to Tot Spot where only those under two (and their parents) are allowed. Inside this cushy space are toys, games and activities that will engage and inspire. There's even a foot activated piano (a la Tom Hanks and Big) for them to dance on.
Past the Tot Spot lies the Tumble Zone where you can look inside buildings, operate a crane (complete with hard had and safety vest) and play building games. Then hop aboard the train at Junction 9161 and pretend you're an engineer or passenger.
The Lasagna Lookout is a jungle gym unlike any you've experienced where passthroughs and tunnels and soft bolsters create a delicious haven of play. Keep your eyes peeled for lasagna ingredients like tomatoes, cheese and onions along the way.
Warning: if you have small children, parents will probably need to go along and help and those corners are tight. So think small thoughts. And possibly bring some kneepads.
Then get really interactive at Pop M'Art where everything from milk containers to pipe cleaners are turned into unique works of art. Over at the Splash Lab, kids can get wet and wild as they discover the magic of how water moves. They give rubber aprons to wear, but I promise you they'll get wet anyways.
