If it’s going to be another season of staycations, you might as well get a souvenir to bring home and show off to all your friends. Chances are you’ve already been exploring local, dining local and shopping local more than ever before. Why wouldn’t you want to rep Winnipeg!?
Worn in Winnipeg
All things cozy, cottage-core and crewneck, line the walls of the brand new We Heart Winnipeg store now open Monday through Saturday in Osborne Village. This sweet city shop started as a passion project in 2017 by husband-wife duo Ryan and Jessica Bowman and has since grown to multiple collections for those who want to celebrate our city. It won’t be long before you’ve filled your Winnipeg tote bag with toques, tees and tops for tots.
The Locals is a new gift shop on Logan Avenue offering a curated collection of many local businesses under one roof. If you’re a '90s kid, you’ll want to check out the Peg City meets Bel Air tie dye creations, or the one where they turn Winnipeg into the Friends logo. This shop has endless styles, colours and designs for you to wear Winnipeg with pride.
When it comes to showing off the entire province, visiting North Flag on Academy Road is a must. Middle Province sweatshirts have become so popular that you can now pair your purchase with a Middle Province lager made by Fort Garry Brewing Co. This shop is home to Patrick Laine’s “Winnipeg is good” wear (we miss you Patty) and paint-splattered typography by Wolseley’s favourite artist, Kal Barteski.
Creative Paper Gallery has been in the heart of River Heights since 1976. Locally owned and operated, this team hand picks all their merchandise from local and national artists and companies. Here’s where you can snag yourself a custom Winnipeg reusable mask that you may have seen worn by our Tourism Winnipeg team in our Here For It videos!
The Home is Winnipeg collection by Peace Collective gives back a portion of each sale to Winnipeg Harvest to help distribute meals to those in need. These comfy clothing items are great for the community, and for sharing the love of community. Like the sweater says, it’s from Winnipeg, with love.
For more Winnipeg lifestyle streetwear, The Peg Authentic Brand on Corydon Avenue references Run-DMC's iconic logo with THE PEG, something you’ve surely seen on a tank top at Folk Festival, or on a snapback in the stands at a Winnipeg Jets game. What started as a local pop up in 2014 - which included a collaboration with Vancity Original Brand, who first adapted the logo to VAN CITY - has evolved into home collections, baby wear and a tasty looking BDI collaboration.
