Nestled beneath the Fairmont Hotel Winnipeg on the lower concourse of the Richardson Centre sits Made Here, a delightful shop that has been tastefully curated with beautiful and unique products created by some of Manitoba’s most talented artisans.
Lindsey Cabato, owner, entrepreneur, local Winnipegger, wife and mom of two has created a space that really captures the essence of local craftsmanship and community spirit. This beautiful store stands as a testament to the vibrant and diverse artistry that Winnipeg has to offer.
A showcase of local talent
Made Here has become a platform for local artisans and creators to showcase their talents. As you step into the store, you are greeted by an eclectic array of handcrafted goods, each telling a story of the rich cultural tapestry that is Manitoba. From meticulously crafted jewelry to intricately designed home decor, every item on display reflects the passion and dedication of the talented individuals behind them.
Speaking of talent, Lindsey is a maker in her own right. Looking for a way to keep the connection to her Filipino culture and language alive and have a way to connect that to her children, she created Fifty Pipty Tagalog Language Learning Flashcards. They are perfect for parents trying to guide their kids or for grown-ups wanting to master Tagalog too!
Supporting the community
What sets Made Here apart is Lindsey's commitment to supporting the local community. By curating a collection of products exclusively from Manitoba-based artists and businesses, the store serves as a catalyst for economic growth. Purchasing items from Made Here not only ensures the acquisition of unique, high-quality products but also contributes to the sustainability of local makers.
Lindsey and her partner Donovan are committed to supporting local children's charities and fostering youth through mentorships and internships as well.
Diverse products
The store offers a diverse range of products, making it a one-stop-shop for those looking to explore the best of Manitoba's creative scene. Whether you're in search of a distinctive piece of clothing, a thoughtful gift, corporate gifts for staff or clients, or a unique piece of artwork, Made Here has you covered. The carefully curated selection ensures that there's something for everyone, regardless of taste or preference.
If you're looking for some Tourism Winnipeg merch, you can find it (and try it on) at Made Here as well.
Engaging shopping experience
Beyond the products themselves, Made Here provides an immersive and engaging shopping experience. The store's layout is thoughtfully designed, allowing customers to leisurely browse through the collections and you'll usually find Lindsey herself on hand to provide insights into the stories behind the products, adding a personal touch to your shopping experience.
Promoting sustainable practices
In addition to supporting local businesses, Made Here is committed to promoting sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Many of the products available are crafted from ethically sourced materials, contributing to a more environmentally conscious approach to shopping. By choosing to shop at Made Here, customers not only invest in local talent but also play a part in fostering a greener and more sustainable approach to shopping.
Made Here is more than just a store; it's a celebration of the creativity, diversity, and community spirit that defines Winnipeg. Whether you're a resident looking to connect with local roots or a visitor looking for a meaningful gift, Made Here will become one of your favourite spots to shop.
