Our Tourism Winnipeg hosts Cody and Sarah have risen again (from the dead) to take in some heart-pounding horror and not-so-pleasant surprises at Winnipeg’s premier Halloween event – Heebie Jeebies.
Leading them through labyrinths full of circus freaks, inbred family butchers, and a zombie apocalypse bunker is Heebie Jeebies owner and operator, Tim Muys.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
This year Heebie Jeebies takes you to hell and back, albeit safely, with new changes and precautions within the event’s 70,000 sq. ft. mostly outdoor space.
“You're never going to be put with strangers. You’re always spaced 40 feet apart when you enter and you stay with your group,” assures Muys.
Other new protocols keeping the event safe but still fun include a free Heebie Jeebies mask for everyone attending, and timed ticketing allowing you to select the period you plan to visit, ensuring a limited number of people arriving on an hourly basis.
“We've also got extra food trucks to shorten the lines, and we've doubled our hot chocolate windows to make sure those lines are shorter too,” said Muys.
WHAT'S NEW FOR 2020
In case you were wondering if this year could get any scarier, Heebie Jeebies aims to make it so with a zombie outbreak that cannot be contained.
“We've brought in the new Bunker Z, which I think is going be a great hit with 25 all-new characters that nobody has ever seen before,” says Muys.
What's worse than a zombie outbreak? How about a zombie outbreak with mutant zombie soldiers?
Other fun frights include zombie carnival games, endless photo ops and of course, a dozen haunted characters walking (and stalking) around the scare zone.
